Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Mona Stone earned an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She then completed a yearlong internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and a four-year residency in oral and maxillofacial Surgery at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Additionally, she trained at three Level I trauma centers and two leading pediatric hospitals in the Fort Lauderdale area.
As a result of her extensive training, Dr. Stone is experienced in a range of surgeries, including maxillofacial trauma surgery, head and neck pathology, cancer surgery, and oral and facial reconstructive surgery. Currently, her primary scope of practice and interest focuses on office-based anesthesia, dental implant surgery, surgical removal of wisdom teeth, trauma surgery and maxillofacial pathology.
Dr. Stone holds certificates in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support. Dr. Stone is a Board Eligible Surgeon and has been involved in leadership roles throughout her career; most recently serving as Chief Resident of her surgical services.
